zudilio - Danielle, thank you for your response & I apologize for the fan reaction & recourse. I was hoping that maybe some fans would simply show you why Iggy matters to them with pics/gifs/great anecdotes - I know weallneedtotalkaboutkevin was being defensive, but Gwen put a little too much fire behind it. Appreciate her for her words, tho.
Look, every TV actor wants to be a “series regular” like Emmy, Cam & Noel. Job security & many other perks. Iggy is a “recurring role” - thus, he’s not needed as much as Mickey, Mandy or even Terry, because the storyline doesn’t require much from him….yet.
I hype Iggy & myself constantly on all SM platforms. I’m selling my talent & my art. I’m where all your favorite Shameless actors used to be & I’m following in their wake.
Will Iggy ever be important enough to be a regular character? That’s not up to me. But I can influence the probability by gathering a fan base who DEMANDS more Iggy.
Shameless, then decides how much to SUPPLY said fans.
Basic business concept, but very relative: did you know that Will Smith was offered the part of Neo in The Matrix?
Know why? He was more valuable at the time, in order to sell tickets. The worth of his famous name & reputation was enough. He passed & the rest was history…
His demand has been pretty high since he was the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Same with J.Michael Trautmann. The more valuable that name is to the studios & Hollywood - the better the opportunity available to me.
The real of it, tho, is that your opinion is yours to have, to express & to share.
Remember that I am a human being, same as yourself.
I’m no celebrity.
I’m a Midwestern white boy from the ghetto, out in California trying to build a career & enjoy my life, while showing my fans the utmost respect, love & sincere appreciation. They all deserve it.
The difference between myself & “movie stars” is that I don’t want respect because I’m famous. That’s wrong. I want to be respected as no better, no less than anyone else on this planet, and from there, appreciated for what I bring to the table.
I know you held no real malice, but you should tag me.
Integrity is a devalued virtue nowadays, but it is one of the most honorable & true characteristics available to us.
I’m sorry if you feel down on yourself, that’s not my intention here. I noticed your response was to the post that I intentionally didn’t tag you in. You sure found it, tho. Case in point.
We become better by being better. It all starts with how we treat the others we share everything with.
Iggy Milkovich is supremely important to me, and it seems others have found him important to themselves, as well. You’re more than welcome to join us on #TeamIggy - might just end up being the team you passionately root for next season =)
My best to you & yours~ respect & thank you
